How many miles will you drive to break the new clutch in before you get your tune?

I believe you need to put 500 miles on it before getting on it.

500 is the usual, and it's better to do that 500 in traffic and not on the highway.

Which clutch did you decide to roll with?

its an ACT 6 puck disk with a heavy duty pressure plate, i was goin to go with the xtreme pressure plate but i think it would have been a little over kill and the g/f would have a tought time drivin the car

After the new clutch is installed, is it normal to have a bit of a vibration when you are in the process of releasing the clutch in 1st, reverse, and downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear before it's broken in?

What type of clutch? The majority of aftermarket clutches will do that in 1st from a roll and in reverse as well. not sure about the 3rd to 2nd though. I guess it could depend on your driving style.

Hello Ryan,
The type of clutch is an ACT Stage 2 MB1-HDSS. It replaces the ACT Stage 2 that came off. I never had any vibration issues with the old clutch, but the brand new one, yes. It's not broken in yet, only has 50 miles on the new clutch. I am thinking it just needs to be broken in.

Could be, but even with a clutch that hasnt been broken in you shouldnt have a vibration between the gears like that unless you are doing something improper during shifting. I would get through the breakin anyways and see if the vibration is still there or not.

Thanks Ryan. I've always had manual cars and NEVER felt any vibration like that when the clutch is being released in 1st or reverse. If I rev the rpm's up to about 2000 and then release the clutch, there's no vibration, but I'm not use to driving that way.
