Bad and Good News...

ok well im trying to get my emissions taken care of so i can get my tag. well my chech engine light has been on because of that damn "multipul misfire" code so it automaticly fails. so as im tryin to get that taken care of im drivin down 85 and i blow a IC pipe off. as im putting it back on i noticed that one of the welds on my intercooler has a crack in it. it must of happened when the IC pipe blew because i had the bumper off the day before and it wasnt there. So on to the good news... i got the weld re done and the intercooler back on the car so that has been taken care of. so back to the misfire code. i currently have a TTP flash on the car so i called them about it and they told me to send them my current map to and they will take a look at it. so i did and got it back this morning. so when i get this new current map uploaded to the car we will see if the check engine light goes off. i know alot of people has this same problem so ill keep everyone updated to see if it works.

Wow what a day. I'm gald my I/C didn't crack when I popped off an I/C hose right after buying the car. I never thought about looking for cracks. Hope all goes well for ya. Keep us updated.

yea iv blown IC pipes off before but never would of thought that the IC itself would crack but shit happens.

wow thats a crazy problem to have with the IC. Do you have Tbolts on the IC piping? May be worth getting, should help prevent IC hoses from coming off. Let us know how everything ends up with the P0300

I blew IC pipes off on my 240 and never cracked the IC... Thats a bit odd, but glad it's taken care of. I'm assuming the P0300 code is caused by the cams? I thought that was mainly an VIII problem?

ok well here is the update....i uploaded the new map and the check engine light DID go off but for anly about 5 miles then it poped back on. im stuck. and i cant get my tag until i pass emissions. im stumped

Maybe a dumb question, but have you disconnected the battery (to reset the ECU) and then driven gently for a week? If not try that.

yea that was the first thing i tried. but it just comes back on
