Squealing like crazy especially from very slow speed stops like pulling into a parking space. Old pads still had more life left in em. No vibration with the OEM Brembo rotors. Can't wait to fix this.
Gonna have the newly installed Ferodo 2500's checked again by Forged. Suggestions about skimming the rotors, lubing the shafts etc. have been made. BTW Matt at Ed Voyles is offering us here at Evo Atlanta sweet rates on doing the rotors if anyone is interested.

Try using valve lapping compound on the back side of the pads

Mine just started squealing real bad as well. I used the lubricant that came with them and didn't have any squealing issues, but recently it has started. At first it would only do it when coming to a slow stop, but now it does it at a high speed brake application. I'm thinking about buying a different lubricant and reapplying to the back of the pads and other areas.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yup, you need something to reduce friction where the piston, shim and pad meet. I didn't add anything the other day and mine are freaking horrible!

Racecars have squeeky brakes!!!! Dose not bother me!! It just lets me know I have high performance brakes, music to my ears!!

i want mine to squeel like a lil girl... or matt.
try crisco or gear oil to the caliper and rotors. make sure you put shit tons of it. just slab it on.

Mine have been squealing a lot more since it is warmer outside. I don't know why that has anything to do with it.

Here as some concerns Ed Voyles mentioned:
Make sure pads are seated and caliper slide pins are lubed otherwise one pad could wear faster or "drag" on the rotor.
Slapping on new pads without resurfacing can set up vibration leading to squealing. They charge only $40 if we bring in the rotors and $100 if we drive in and they have to pull em off.

DO NOT RESURFACE Evo rotors! Just like the recent German cars, resurfacing these rotors will CAUSE WARPING! They are built to be replaced, not turned. I'm pretty sure this is even in the manual.
If you are worried about the surface, scuff it with a standard steel wool pad to remove some of the old pad material, but do not turn them.

Alright, I'm going to try to attack mine this evening. I'm getting some bearing grease and graphite powder to work on the issue. Here is the plan ...
Apply bearing grease to both sides of shim.
Sprinkle with graphite
Apply bearing grease to pins
I'm considering taking some steel wool to the rotors too, but I honestly don't think that's the cause of my squealing. I properly bedded in the pads and under full braking they are quiet as can be. There isn't a big difference between the stock pad compound and the Ferodos, so this shouldn't be an issue. You only really need to remove the old pad residue if going from say a full organic to a metallic pad as it can sometimes cause reduced braking ability as the compounds won't mix.

Sound advice. Did the same as far as bedding in the pads goes. And you're correct, under hard braking there's no squeal. Let me know the bearing grease and graphite work out.

At Porsche we use Brembo's as well. As per Porsche training facility. Do not machine our rotors, thinner rotors get hot faster and have a high tendency to fade. There mantaince schedual is a pad slap, then replace rotors and pads, then pads, .....
High performance brakes squeek!! Porsche says deal with it, if not then dont buy a sportscar that is know for amazing stopping ability! LOL

Well, I got some specific brake component grease and the graphite. It's better, but still squeaks pretty bad. There is 0 glazing on the pads, so it's stopping fine.
I think the grease/graphite on the pins will help the pads from dragging as I had nothing on them before ... but like Mouse said, we just need to deal with it.

Get ceramics. I ran Mintex ceramics on my S. I put them on at 36k, they didnt have even 1/4 wear when I sold the car ar 82k.
I did put 2 sets of rotors on the car due to warping, but they were free. I just got them off of people when they switched theirs out for new rotors at low miles. It was way cheaper in the end.
I also did away with the brake sensor. Get a a new one, and just tie it off to the frame. 16 bucks a wheel every brake job is dumb. Im sure you check the pads enough to know when you need pads, you dont need the dummy light.
