I have several rock chips and dents in my crappy mitsu paint. I was wondering if it mattered if I waxed the car anyway. I assume that I can't hurt anything further.
How often do you guys go the extra mile and wax your Evo?
Discuss.

I detail vehicles just because I enjoy it for some reason. If I'm ever in town I'll wax it for ya. :D Wax will also help keep the elements away from bare metal to prevent rusting. Still it would be best to get a filler before hand for the big scratches so the wax can adhere a little better.

Russ I didn't know you detailed. I do it as a side business here and make good money doing it. Russ is right though Brett. Even though you may have rock chips and dents a good wax can help make the difference. Nothing like a full polishing like you've seen me do, but it will make a difference and prevent it from getting worse. The best thing to do is to wash the car and then clay it, then follow it with a good wax. Go to Harbor Freight and pick up some Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. It's 10 bucks, looks great and can last up to 6 months.

Thanks for the tips guys! I will do just that. Do you wax the cf spoiler? And what kind of filler do you recommend for the rock chips?

Get some touch up paint first. I have great luck using a small disposable needle to do touch up with. You can literally pin point where the paint is gonna go & how much comes out. Or go to an art supply store & get a very fine paint brush to do the job. Do this after you clean the car, but before you wax. And yes do wax the CF spoiler.

Wait wait!!! Stop!! Drop the touch up paint!!!! Remember the hot girl that drives the evo???? Well she can fix those chips and scratches with out the blobs of touch up paint. It custom mixed by eye to make sure it matches and doesnt look like crap!!! She even wet sands and buffs the scratches that really need attention! The best part is she is mobile and can do for the low low price of 65.00!! Thats is the whole car!!!

I forgot that you said she did brush touch also. Professional is always better than DIY. I do bumper repair & I paid someone else to brush touch my car cause I knew it would look better.

Well she does both airbrush touch up as well as brush. Just depends on how bad the scratch or chips are! She also does all the chips not just the big 1s. O as far as the website goes it is soon to come ,but for refrences she does nalley infinty, Atl auto brokers, hennessy porsche, jim ellis porsche, and many more!!

As long as it's before May 27th I'm in. I'm leaving for New Zealand and probably won't be back until December.

I have to wait until I drive to my house before I can wax. I normally wax my car about three times a year.
