There are two different ways to install the mbc. Look in the how-to section on evom and you can find the write up there.

I don't understand why you got cams b4 the fuel pum or MBC? Did you do any research? What's the rush on everything? Does the car have to be completely modded by the end of the month or something? Just asking....

02-19-2009, 10:44 PM
he's going home to jersey and driving all the way.... almost been better to wait i'm thinking.... it is an evo, its badass stock.....
Hikaru
02-19-2009, 10:47 PM
Ahhh. I see. Trying to take it home hooked up. Yeah modding shouldn't be rushed like that...
jktripp
02-19-2009, 10:52 PM
well, originally, i think he thought,"gets cams, get tuned, sound good." not realizing til after cam install that he needs a few more things to finish.... (thats why i have a boost gauge and controller and fuel pump now, already installed, deciding on cams...)
ryanowarrior
02-19-2009, 10:57 PM
thought you were gettin cams
lazyevo<3
02-19-2009, 10:58 PM
yea i didnt kno i needed the pump till after and i was told i can get tuned and they will adjust my boost by the ecu...... and now i found out alot other i just got installing my fuel pump myself it wasnt to bad!! bitch to get out but thats about it....... now i am looking for what like to tap into for the boost gauge i got power to gauge and vacum line ran but what line do i tap into?? the one on the intak mani that travles to the Bov? anyone know?? then next i have to install my mbc its a little confusing i dono what lines to take off and what not
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:01 PM
we tried..... (good effort by shunder and blkonblk2), but long story short, the threads for the t-belt tensioner were stripped by the previous owner so the tensioner tool couldnt loosen the belt to remove the cams.......

did you look over this whole writeup? (nice find dan) it has pictures at the bottom of the write(click to open)
sometimes it helps me to write down the directions instead of just reading them, that way it makes me read each word and i understand what they are saying a little bit more....

02-19-2009, 11:18 PM
did you get your boost gauge to workin??
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:19 PM
Option #2: "T" into the hose that runs between the diverter valve (DV) & the intake manifold. Note that the DV is often referred to as a BOV.
did you do this yet?
this was taken from the writeup dan found.....
ryanowarrior
02-19-2009, 11:22 PM
^ ah ya beat me to that part :)
lazyevo<3
02-19-2009, 11:22 PM
look at this it seems like i just put a hose from the waste gate to the mbc and tapped into the bov if im right? and just take all the other lines off i guess??
http://forums.evolutionm.net/attachments/evo-engine-turbo-drivetrain/21291-just-installed-mbc-mbc-small.jpg
lazyevo<3
02-19-2009, 11:28 PM
ok i think its finaly clicking to me so i have to T from the bov and that hose goes to the one end of the mbc then the other one goes to the waste gate actuator? how do i clamp of the turbo nipple/?
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:31 PM
looks like you need to run new lines [indicated by the red lines]
1) to tap into existing line between bov and intake mani, and
2) completely new hose to waste gate actuator and cap off tube to
a) turbo nipple and
b) nipple on the intake pipe...
it doesnt make it too clear if you cap old line to waste gate actuator though.....
but then again, as i said, i have never did this before, im just going by the directions posted....
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:33 PM
did it not come with all necessary hardware?
lazyevo<3
02-19-2009, 11:33 PM
yea thats what it looks like to me!! but then again on step 1 it says run it to the turbo and then to the boost controler and then from the mbc to the waste gate actuator i wonder what was is better to do!?
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:33 PM
hold on-i'll go look at mine...brb
lazyevo<3
02-19-2009, 11:35 PM
i think im goin to do it this way^^ bc i am goin to tap into the BOV line for my boost gauge ok im goin back down to try this ill be back in a min im sure!!
jktripp
02-19-2009, 11:37 PM
you can always wait til touring bubble or ryan or shunder or dan get on and read up to where you are.... they will probably be able to help the rest of the way.... you are basically finished i think.... waiting for them might be better.... asking me is like asking a kindergardner about algebra.... i can only go so far by reading someone else's post....
bomjoon
02-20-2009, 12:24 AM
you should have paid me $50 to do this...

shunderwunder

jktripp
02-20-2009, 12:49 AM

If youve got spare hoes I could use a few. :D
lazyevo<3
02-20-2009, 01:01 AM
lol lol ok shunder so i got the hose on the actuator but no little clamp!! it is to big the hose i bought is a little less thick but it is a BIZZZNICH to slid on there and i tryed to pull it off and it wont come off do u think it will blow off ?
shunderwunder
02-20-2009, 01:06 AM
It shouldn't, but I just use zip ties.
lazyevo<3
02-20-2009, 01:08 AM
ok and the little nub on the turbo is that put out alot of pressure? bc if i cap it off with it blow off if there is alot of boost?
shunderwunder
02-20-2009, 01:13 AM
use a zip tie there as well.

TouringBubble
02-20-2009, 08:17 AM
I personally would have just used the stock boost source on the LICP to connect the MBC instead of tapping another line in the to DV. But, what you've got looks correct assuming the MBC is facing the correct direction.
